Born in Yorkshire, Julian moved to South Normanton in Derbyshire over 12 years ago with his wife Sharon.
Julian is proud to be a Conservative Party member and became the first ever Conservative County Councillor to represent the residents of his home parish, South Normanton, and neighbouring Pinxton.
He and Sharon also actively campaign in General Elections, the most recent being in 2019 which also saw Mark Fletcher become Bolsover Constituency’s first ever Conservative MP.
His portfolio includes;
Vice Chair of the Improvement & Scrutiny Committee - Place
Derbyshire County Council’s representative to the outside bodies of
South Normanton Joint Services Centre (The Hub) and
Bolsover NED LEADER Local Action Group.
He works well with other local District and Parish Councillors, making sure residents’ needs or issues are always at the forefront of his actions.
Issues Julian will continue to work on are:
Improving our network of highways, infrastructure, road safety and other traffic issues
Protecting our green spaces, environment and Public Rights of Way
Helping to build on our local economy and trade
Working towards a greener, Carbon Neutral Derbyshire
Supporting local organisations, community groups and youth sports with their projects.
Julian will continue to work hard for you throughout his tenure to make the best positive impact throughout South Normanton, Pinxton and the wider County of Derbyshire.
