£1000 DCC Grant funds to assist Long Eaton Cricket Club to purchase a bowling machine.
DCC Cllr Kewal Singh Athwal was approached by Martin Dellar who requested grant funding of £1000 to assist Long Eaton Cricket Club purchase a much-needed bowling machine for the rapidly growing club based on West Park.
Simon Ward of LECC said;
“Long Eaton Cricket Club have an ever-growing community with almost 150 members, with cricket being played at all age groups, from our Junior All Stars and Dynamos to our Vets team on Friday evenings. We are very proud of our ladies section which has developed into a thriving community in soft and hardball formats and the purchase of this new equipment will further help the development of our players”
Derbyshire County Councillor Kewal Singh Athwal Said;
“I am delighted to have been able to support Long Eaton Cricket Club with this £1000Grant from the Derbyshire County Council MCLS to facilitate the purchase of the bowling machine. I am aware that many local cricket players of all ages will benefit from having the new bowling machine to practice and improve their cricket skills and I wish them all much success on the playing field”
