Long Eaton Rugby FC gets Grant Funding from Derbyshire County Council to assist players and coaches to be safe from Covid - 19
Derbyshire County Councillor for Sawley, Cllr Kewal Singh Athwal has given £1000 from the DCC Members Community Leadership Scheme towards the cost of purchasing sanitizer dispensers to help keep players and coaches safe whilst training for Rugby.
LERFC are a well known local community club that has both male & female rugby players of all ages who enjoy the sport on a regular basis at West Park.
Chris Brookes, Chairman of LERFC said;
"This gratefully received grant of £1000 will be used to purchase mobile sanitising stations that will be used by the clubs junior and mini sections, helping us to keep each section socially distanced, and reduce the need for changing rooms at training and games. We are so grateful to Councillor Athwal and Derbyshire County Council in supporting community sport and rugby in helping us keep everyone safe in this challenging time".
Councillor Kewal Singh Athwal said:
"LERFC is a great community club for young children and adults, both male & female from our local area to have rugby related fitness training and I am very pleased to have been able to assist their wonderful work".
