We’re giving voters a flavour of what’s coming in our forthcoming Manifesto. 

First up, Derbyshire Conservatives recognise the need for sensible road safety and speed reduction measures where local consultation supports it. So we will:

·      Introduce speed reduction schemes and clean air zones in our towns and villages where local people support it.  Including implementing 20mph zone trials in towns in Derbyshire to promote clean air and cycling, making them “Green Towns.”

These trials will help to evaluate this innovative model and we will look to expand, again in consultation with, and the support of, communities.

Further, we will:

·      Commit to working with residents and partners to tackle road safety throughout Derbyshire.

We don’t make rash promises that would bankrupt the council - we work smartly with our communities and residents to deliver sensible and credible plans to make our communities safer, cleaner and greener.
