Councillor Kevin Parkinson wrote to the Business Secretary, Vince Cable, MP, inviting him to see first hand how our continued investment continues to successfully attract new businesses, creating new jobs in the North of the county.
Councillor Kevin Parkinson said:
'It was good the Secretary of State for Business could see first hand the number of new compaines we have attracted to Markahm Vale, and he was impressed with the work we have done to continue to meet our future plans to bring 5,000 jobs to this area of the county.''
Derbyshire Conservatives secured Enterprise Zone status from the Government through the Sheffield City Region, Local Enterprise Partnership and can now offer companies looking to move to Markham Vale, Enhanced Capital Allowances - offering tax relief for major investment in plant and machinery.
Business Secretary, Vince Cable said:
"I was very impressed by the work going on at Markham Vale. The site is undergoing an impressive transformation from not too long ago when it was a derelict former coal mining area.''

''We gave the Minister the opportunity to meet the team at Andrew Page who are currently building their new national operation centre and take a tour of HSE Miller, one of our expanding businesses were the Minister performed the official opening of their new purpose built international headquarters and manufacturing facility.''
