Defibrillator's for Sawley
Derbyshire County Councillor for Sawley Cllr Kewal Singh Athwal has sourced grant funding from the DCC Community's Priority Program Scheme to fund six defibrillator's for the wider Sawley area. The new Defibrillator's have been installed on 23rd August and they will be available 24/7 for the benefit of our local residents and visitors to the Sawley area. Councillor Athwal has worked closely with East Midlands Ambulance Service and they have recommended the proposed Defibrillator's and East Midlands Ambulance Service will maintain these life saving machines on a ongoing basis.
Heart problems can happen at any age, it is not only the elderly or infirm people that can suffer with heart problems but as we have seen in the recent past, that even young athletes can be effected.
Councillor Kewal Singh Athwal said:
"Even if only one life is saved by these Defibrillator's, then it is worth investing in this project and I would like to thank all the businesses that have agreed to have these defibrillators installed on their premises".
Defibrillators have been installed at the following locations around Sawley and Long Eaton:
Londis, Wharfedale Road
Park View Medical Centre, Cranfleet Way
Bains Convenience Store, Tamworth Road
Sawley Memorial Hall and Community Centre, Draycott Road
Mr Chips, Beresford Road
