Derbyshire County Councillor for Sawley Cllr Kewal Singh Athwal has joined with Cllr Alan Griffiths and Cllr Garry Hickton to assist Long Eaton Carnival Association in helping to part fund this year’s Carnival which takes place on 22nd June 2019 at West Park. The annual Carnival has been enjoyed by local residents for many years and it is one of the major events of the year. Councillors Athwal, Griffiths and Hickton have jointly contributed £3000 from the DCC Members Leadership Scheme to assist the Carnival Committee to ensure that this major event takes place again this year.

The Long Eaton Carnival is an annual tradition enjoyed by local people of all ages and it has been running since the early 1930’s.
