DCC Cllr Kewal Singh Athwal Funds Exercise Chairs For Sawley Baptist Church

Derbyshire County Councillor for Sawley Cllr Kewal Singh Athwal has given a grant cheque for £500 from the DCC Members Leadership Scheme to enable Sawley Baptist Church to purchase chairs for sitting exercises to improve mobility for the elderly members of the class which are held twice weekly at Sawley Baptist Church.

Councillor Kewal Singh Athwal said:

 "Mobility is causing many problems for the elderly residents of Sawley and I was contacted by Pamela Popp and Julie Walker to assist in purchasing chairs to help residents in doing sitting down exercises. I saw the benefits of this project first hand and I am very pleased that I have been able to assist this group".
