Ashbourne County Councillor Steve Bull has successfully lobbied highways to cut back overhanging soil and hedges to make visible safer for local pedestrians crossing Luke Lane at Brailsford Green.

He has received the following thank you email from a local resident:

DEAR Steve,

Your actions have REALLY made my day! Highways were working on the worst hedge and soil  protrusion this morning when we went out for our daily exercise. I just HAD to run up Main Road towards Ashbourne from Luke Lane and thank them, it looked SO much better, and there was even a better sight line to check for traffic when crossing the road from Luke Lane to the chapel. WHAT a relief, and all down to all your hard work. I wonder if it will even be possible to make this an annual event!
