Wingerworth Fencing Club is delighted to announce that we have received a grant for £2,500 from Cllr Barry Lewis via the Derbyshire County Council Community Leadership Fund. This grant will allow us to expand our equipment, train more coaches to do outreach & increase our hall hire capacity, all of which will enable us to introduce more people to the dynamic & exciting sport of fencing.

Cllr Barry Lewis said, “In the, hopefully soon to be, post-Coronavirus future there will be a return to a more normal life and people returning to social and sporting activity.  As a club fencer, along with my daughter, we have both seen the benefits to physical fitness and mental well-being that this sport can provide.  I hope that by providing more opportunities to members of the public, of all ages, to try this brilliant sport we can engage them in an activity that will bring them great benefits for many years.
